The Affordable Care Act (ACA) Healthcare Marketplace, commonly known as Obamacare, makes health care insurance more affordable for millions of Americans. By changing how medical services are paid for, it provides premium subsidies for low to middle income families to enable them to purchase affordable health plans available where they live. ACA also allows for Americans with a pre-existing health condition to enroll into a health plan and it enables parents to add their dependents up to age 26 onto their own plans.
